Hey everyone!
I recently went through the on-campus internship hiring process for Siemens, and I wanted to share my complete interview experience. Hopefully, this helps anyone preparing for internship interviews.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📝 Resume Shortlisting
On April 7, 2026, a Google Form was circulated for applications. Students were shortlisted based on their resumes.
I tried to keep my resume project-oriented and focused on:
  • DSA
  • Web Development
  • Problem Solving
  • Programming Languages
A total of 59 students were shortlisted for the OA round.

💻 Online Assessment (OA) – April 9, 2026

  • OOP
  • DBMS
  • General CS Fundamentals
🔹 14 Aptitude Questions
  • Logical Reasoning
  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Analytical Thinking
The overall difficulty was Easy to Medium.
After the OA, only 13 students were shortlisted for interviews.

🎯 Technical Interview Round 1 – April 10, 2026
⏳ Duration: Around 25–30 Minutes
The interview started with:
“Tell me about yourself.”
After the introduction, the interviewer started discussing my resume and projects.
The round was very interactive and discussion-based instead of rapid-fire questioning.
Some of the topics discussed were:
🔹 OOP Concepts
All four pillars of OOP were discussed:
  • Encapsulation
  • Abstraction
  • Inheritance
  • Polymorphism
Among these, inheritance was discussed in much more detail, including:
  • Types of inheritance
  • Real-life examples
  • Advantages of inheritance
  • How inheritance works in different programming languages
🔹 DBMS
  • What is Relational Integrity?
  • Difference between Primary Key and Foreign Key
  • How foreign keys help maintain consistency between tables
We also discussed how relational integrity ensures that relationships between tables remain valid and prevents invalid data entries.
🔹 Programming Languages
  • Difference between C++ and JavaScript
The interviewer mainly focused on logical thinking and clarity of explanation rather than memorized answers.

🔥 Technical Interview Round 2 – April 10, 2026
⏳ Duration: Around 25–30 Minutes
The second round was also technical and included more coding-oriented discussions.
Topics discussed included:
🔹 DSA & Coding
  • Add a node at the head of a Linked List
  • Find duplicate elements in an array without using extra space
The coding was done in Notepad instead of an IDE, so the focus was more on approach and problem-solving.
🔹 Python
  • How is inheritance implemented in Python?
🔹 Puzzle Question
One interesting puzzle asked was:
“Calculate the angle between the hour and minute hand of a clock.”
🔹 Project Discussion
Questions were also asked from the projects mentioned on my resume, along with discussions about the technologies used.
The interviewer was more interested in understanding:
✅ My approach to solving problems
✅ Concept clarity
✅ Confidence while explaining solutions
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⏳ The Waiting Period
The interviews got over quickly, but the waiting period felt much longer 😅
Finally, on April 21, the results were announced.
And fortunately, I got selected! 🎉
Only 3 students were finally selected.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📚 Preparation Strategy
For preparation, I mainly focused on:
  • DSA fundamentals
  • OOP concepts
  • DBMS basics
  • C++ fundamentals
  • Resume preparation
  • Project explanation
One important lesson I learned:
👉 Whatever you mention in your resume should be something you can confidently explain.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
💡 Key Takeaways
✅ Strong fundamentals matter a lot
✅ Communication skills are very important
✅ Projects should be explained clearly
✅ Practice writing code without relying on IDE suggestions
✅ Interviews are often discussion-based, not just theory questions
Overall, the Siemens interview process was an amazing learning experience and gave me a better understanding of technical interviews.
Best of luck to everyone preparing for internships and placements! 🚀
